Guides / What to grow
Keep the harvest coming: succession planting
Small sowings every few weeks instead of one big one.
Sow all your lettuce at once and you'll have too much for two weeks, then none. Sowing a little every few weeks spreads the harvest out, so less goes to waste.
How
- Sow a short row or small patch of fast crops every two to three weeks
- Good candidates: lettuce, radishes, beans, cilantro, green onions
- When one crop finishes, plant another in its spot
- Plant cool-season crops again in late summer for a fall harvest
